Guidance

The Guidance Department of Colegio Leonés is a specialized body that supports the work of the school and the teaching staff in all those actions aimed at ensuring the comprehensive education of students and the adaptation of teaching processes to the characteristics and needs of all students.

 

To this end, it is responsible for participating in the planning and development of the actions carried out in the school to facilitate the attention to the diversity of students both through the teaching processes developed in the different curricular areas and through the tutorial action and the academic and professional orientation.

FUNCTIONS

The Guidance Department has assigned functions related to academic, psycho-pedagogical and professional guidance, with attention to students with special educational needs and support to tutorial action. More specifically, it is in charge of, among other tasks:
  • To elaborate, in accordance with the guidelines established by the Pedagogical Coordination Commission and in collaboration with the tutors, the Academic Orientation Plan and the Tutorial Action Plan.
  • To contribute to the development of the educational, psycho-pedagogical and professional orientation of the students, especially with regard to the changes of cycle or stage, and to the choice between the different options, formative and professional.
  • To collaborate with the tutors and with the rest of the teaching staff in the planning and development of academic and professional orientation and tutoring activities.
  • Propose criteria and procedures for making appropriate curricular adaptations for students with special educational needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers in the prevention and detection of learning problems and in the implementation of educational activities aimed at students with such problems.
  • Formulate proposals to the staff and the CCP to improve teaching processes.
