Pre-School

This educational stage covers from 3 to 6 years of age, when Primary Education begins. This stage is concerted in all our educational centers.

Our educational offer at this stage is based on:
  • We follow the official program set by the educational authorities, incorporating the teaching of English in our timetable.
  • We prepare our students to acquire the intellectual tools appropriate to their age.
  • We develop an adequate program of complementary activities through which we promote an education in values.
  • We have a psychomotricity classroom to carry out the activities of this discipline.
  • At this stage we have a morning and afternoon schedule, and we have a dining room service and an Early Bird Program.
  • Students wear school and sports uniforms.

Purpose of Pre-School Education:

1. The purpose of Pre-School Education is to contribute to the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of boys and girls.
2. Affective development, movement and body control habits, the manifestations of communication and language, the elementary patterns of coexistence and social relationships, as well as the discovery of the physical and social characteristics of the environment will be progressively attended to. In addition, it will help children to develop a positive and balanced self-image and to acquire personal autonomy.

Objectives of Pre-School Education:

The Infant Education will contribute to develop in the girls and boys the capacities that will allow them:

  1. To know their own body and that of others, their possibilities of action and learn to respect differences.
  2. Build a positive and adjusted self-image and develop their affective capacities.
  3. To progressively acquire autonomy in their usual activities.
  4. To observe and explore their family, natural and social environment.
  5. Relate with others and progressively acquire basic guidelines for coexistence and social relations, with special attention to equality between girls and boys, as well as exercise in the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
  6. Develop communication skills in different languages and forms of expression.
  7. To be initiated in logical-mathematical skills, in reading and writing and in movement, gesture and rhythm.

Areas of Pre-School Education

a) Self-knowledge and personal autonomy.
b) Knowledge of the environment.
c) Languages: Communication and representation.

These areas should be understood as spheres of action, as spaces for learning attitudes, procedures and concepts that will contribute to the development of boys and girls and will help them approach the interpretation of the world, giving it meaning and facilitating their active participation in it.

They should be conceived with a criterion of globality and mutual dependence, and will be approached by means of globalized activities that have interest and meaning for the children.

It will begin in the first year of the second cycle of Pre-School Education.

A first approach to reading and writing, as well as early initiation experiences in basic numerical skills, information and communication technologies and visual and musical expression, and education in values will be promoted, with special reference to education in coexistence and equality between women and men in the school, family and social environments.

Will be based on experiences, activities and play and will be applied in an environment of affection and trust, to enhance their self-esteem and social integration.
