Sporting Activities

Basketball

Basketball is the great bastion of sports at Colegio Leonés, being one of the few schools in the country that year after year compete with teams of the importance of Real Madrid, F.C. Barcelona or Estudiantes de Madrid.

Basketball School

Our basketball players are initiated in this sport in our coeducational basketball school, where their coaches instruct them in a personalized way in the most elementary objectives of this sport.

Athlethism

International athletes of the stature of Roberto Aláiz – Spanish Champion in 3000m steeplechase and awarded the Gold Badge of the Colegio Leonés in 2014 – have passed through our classrooms.

Volleyball

One of the most demanding and complex cooperative sports today, volleyball has a great historical tradition among our athletes. It is clearly a team sport with great individual skill and technique, and it greatly promotes the strengthening of psychomotor skills.

Leonese Wrestling

This sport -also known as “aluches”- is one of the oldest on the European continent. Of warrior and pre-Roman origin, Leonese wrestling shows us the evolution of our own province through sport.

Table Tennis

Table tennis is one of the most popular sports at our center. Due to the large number of movements performed during the game, children improve their coordination and endurance.

Chess

Chess helps to develop concentration, patience and perseverance from the earliest ages, helping the child to learn to make decisions and solve problems in a self-sufficient way from the earliest ages.
Gimnasia Artística

Artistic Gymnastics

Artistic gymnastics looks for movements in sequence in order to perfect the technique, originality and style of the participants. Maria Jesús Ortega directs our artistic gymnastics extracurricular program.

Rhythmic Gymnastics

Rhythmic gymnastics is a very complete sport that combines ballet, gymnastics and dance with apparatus such as rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon. Carolina Rodríguez – ex-Olympic gymnast at Club Ritmo León – is the most obvious example of the high level that our students show year after year.

Roller in line

Roller in Line is a new extracurricular activity that is has been received with great enthusiasm by our students this school year. We have expert instructors who interact with our young skaters according to their level and experience.

Ballet

Directed by our teacher Ms. Encina Díaz Rueda, the ballet extracurricular activity initiates the youngest students of the school to dance with great popularity. Choosing dance as an extracurricular activity tends to be something natural for many children who especially enjoy moving to the rhythm of the music.

Urban Dance

Dance and dancing as an after-school activity is an activity that most children enjoy. Even the youngest children manage to sway with some sense as soon as they manage to take their first steps.
